Scammers Targeting ads.txt for Fraud Scheme

Scammers recently found a new workaround for the ads.txt initiative, which was implemented to help thwart domain spoofing. In the scheme, fraudsters are creating fake websites and then opening accounts with approved resellers listed in legitimate publishers' ads.txt files so impressions would appear to be coming from authorized sellers. In Ad Fraud Fight, 17 Percent of Windows OS Traffic is Fraudulent

Late payments in ad tech increasingly common

Financial intermediary OAREX Capital Markets analyzed more than 10,000 invoices from its clients—publishers, ad tech vendors and agencies—and found that over the past year, 55% of payments came late. Tiny island atoll’s domain used in widespread ad fraud

A scam campaign involving “.tk” domains - the suffix that's supposed to stand for the tiny Pacific island nation of Tokelau - redirects unsuspecting users to fake blogger sites that are collectively bringing in close to $22,000 per month in advertising revenue.
